Established on 29th September 1975. Founded by late Mr. Tan Yap who later Introduced American Sign Language to Malaysia. Helped formulated Bahasa Sign Language for government. Introduced sign language segment for RTM channel 1 news. Established our very own Selangor School For The Deaf in 1992 with 18 classroom at Kelana Jaya, Selangor with the help of PKNS, Welfare Ministry & Ainomichi foundation of Japan. The first batch of enrolment was 200 students and with 30 years of leasing for land. In the year 1984 to 1986 SDSFT represented its own deaf football team to 2nd Asia Pacific Deaf Football Championship in Kyoto Japan and Hong Kong. In 1984 SDSFT purchased its own secretariat office at Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur which was being used as head quarters till today. SDSFT celebrated its silver jubilee in 2005 to thank those who made SDSFT achieved its agenda.
